Plant Location Tree Overview
Like most good CMMS systems, SOMAX has a process to build a hierarchy for Equipment and Locations. In SOMAX we call it the Plant Location Tree. The Plant Location Tree (PLT) is designed to overcome the limitation of the standard Equipment Tree. The association of Equipment and Locations makes it possible to assign and track Maintenance Work Orders and Sanitation Jobs so all costs are recorded. The PLT allows you to look at cost at four different levels; Equipment, Line, Department, and Area. Our Dashboard allows you to drill down within the PLT to retrieve summary information that is easy to see.
Setting Up the Plant Location Tree
Building the Plant Location Tree is a three step process.
1. Create the Areas, Departments and Lines in Plant Setup
2. Build the Plant Locations
3. Add Equipment within the PLT
